Breville / Sage Barista Express steam wand not working: restore steam and milk foam
The manual first checks power, water and the STEAM position, then a milk-blocked tip. Purge after each use, cool the machine before using the supplied cleaning pin and remove the tip only when the exact manual instructs it.
Before you start

Confirm power, water and steam mode
Make sure the machine is on, the tank is filled and fully seated, and the dial reaches STEAM. Wait until the steam light stops flashing before testing over the drip tray.

Purge and wipe after use
Wipe the wand with a damp cloth while it is still easy to clean, point it at the drip tray and briefly open STEAM to clear milk from inside. Return to STANDBY immediately.

Clear a blocked tip when fully cool
Turn off, unplug and let the machine cool. Use the pin on the supplied cleaning tool in the tip opening. If it remains blocked, remove the tip only with the tool and sequence shown in the exact manual, then refit it before one test.

Why does the steam light keep flashing?
During heat-up, flashing is normal. If it flashes immediately at power-on, the manual says to return the steam dial to STANDBY so normal heating can begin.
Does weak foam always mean the steam wand is blocked?
No. With normal steam, the manual also points to milk temperature and freshness. Use cold fresh milk before dismantling any removable tip.
