SENSEO lid stuck: release pressure safely without forcing it
Residual pressure may hold the lid closed. Never force it while the machine is hot.

Can I force the SENSEO lid after it cools?
No. Philips instructs you to unplug it and wait 24 hours. Try the normal lever once only after that wait; contact support if it remains locked.
Does descaling open a lid that is already locked?
No. Do not run the machine while it is locked. Descale only after safe release and holder cleaning to reduce the chance of recurrence.
