Krups Evidence cleaning or descaling cycle: normal pauses and safe restart

Evidence alternates pumping and pauses during chemical cycles. A pause is not a fault: keep the tank and container in place and let the on-screen sequence finish.

Before you start

  • Confirm an Evidence EA890–EA898 reference.
  • Use a 0.6 L container and keep the water tank seated.
  • Remove the Claris cartridge before descaling when instructed.

Evidence EA890–EA898

  1. 01

    Follow the on-screen program

Use the Maintenance menu. Coffee cleaning takes about 13 minutes with a Krups tablet; descaling takes about 20 minutes with 40 g of descaler to the CALC mark.

After this stepThe screen identifies the next phase; pumping pauses are expected.
  2. 02

    Let an interrupted cycle resume

After an accidental power loss, refill what the screen requests and let the machine resume the interrupted phase. The chemical product must be rinsed out completely.

After this stepThe machine returns to the drink screen only after rinsing.
  3. 03

Use the reset only outside an active cycle

If the interface is truly frozen outside a chemical phase, switch off, unplug, remove the filter, wait one minute, reconnect and hold On for at least three seconds.

After this stepThe normal start-up screen returns and no chemical phase is pending.
