Dolce Gusto coffee not flowing: pressure, injector and descaling checks
A capsule can remain pressurised. Put the lever at STOP or use the machine’s stop control, keep the machine upright and wait for the decompression noise to finish before touching the holder.
Before you start
- ✓Identify the exact model before using any button sequence.
- ✓Keep fingers away from the injector and hot outlet.
- ✓Do not unplug immediately while a capsule may still be under pressure.

Stop and let pressure release
Move the control to STOP or press the model’s stop button. Keep the machine upright and wait until the decompression sound ends. Do not lift or pull the holder.
✓ After this stepThe holder opens with normal resistance only. - 02
Test water without a capsule
Remove and discard the used capsule, fill and seat the tank, close the empty holder and run the water test allowed by the exact manual.
✓ After this stepWater flows: the capsule or its seating caused the blockage. - 03
Clean only with the exact tool
If there is still no water, follow the manual’s power-off point, unplug, then clean the injector only with the Krups tool listed for that machine. MS-624995 fits Genio S/Plus; Piccolo XS uses MS-623953.
✓ After this stepThe injector is cleared without touching it with fingers or dismantling anything. - 04
Descale with the model procedure
An orange light, slower flow or cooler drink can request descaling. Never use vinegar and never interrupt a started cycle. Exit-mode instructions differ by family and are not universal.
✓ After this stepThe orange indication clears after the full rinse.
