Water in a De’Longhi Magnifica grounds container: normal rinse or leak?

De’Longhi states that a small amount is normal because of condensation and automatic rinsing. The useful question is whether the quantity is small and stable or large and increasing.

Before you start

  • Switch off normally before removing containers.
  • Dry the outside and the surface beneath the machine.
  • Do not tilt or open the machine.

  1. 01

    Reset the observation

Empty the grounds container whenever the drip tray is removed, even if it holds little coffee. Dry both and refit the tray and its grille completely.

After this stepNo water is visible beneath the correctly seated machine.
  2. 02

Observe one rinse and one coffee

Let the normal automatic rinse finish, then make one coffee. A few drops in the grounds area can be normal; record a puddle, repeated overflow or water under the appliance as abnormal.

After this stepThe amount stays small and does not increase rapidly.
  3. 03

Clean the infuser only as permitted

After a complete shutdown with the machine button, remove the infuser only if the exact manual permits it. Soak about five minutes in water, rinse without detergent, air-dry and never use a dishwasher.

After this stepThe infuser removes and refits without force.
