First separate normal automatic standby from a socket, cord or internal electrical fault; this is not a water-flow problem.

Run the safe check
Check that the plug is fully seated and test the wall socket with a known working low-power appliance. Do not remove any panel.

Unplug the machine for ten seconds, reconnect it directly to the working socket and try once. If there is still no light, use Nespresso service.

Should I descale a Vertuo that has no power?
No. Descaling cannot run without power and does not repair an electrical fault. Complete only the external power checks, then contact Nespresso.
Can I open the base to check a fuse?
No. There are mains-voltage parts inside. Keep the casing closed and use Nespresso service after the socket and plug checks.
